    EHDI systems must ensure that families get access to culturally competent information to help parents make informed decisions. This also includes providing families access to support groups to help provide emotional support.

  • IDEA: The Individuals with Disabilites Education Act

    IDEA is a law that makes available a free and appropriate public education to eligible children with disabilities throughout the nation and ensures special education and related services are available to children.

  • Advocacy Letters

    National Association for the Deaf offers lots of resources for parents on their website. Check out these advocacy letters can help you advocate for your child’s rights. These letters are not a promise of legal representation and using them does not mean that the NAD represents you. But they have tips to help you when requesting ASL interpreters (or other accommodations) to help make family events and outings more accessible for your child.

  • Reading Aloud Tips for Children with Language Delays

    Reach Out and Read helps integrate reading into pediatric practices, advise families about the importance of reading with their children, and share books that serve as a catalyst for healthy childhood development.   • Cerebral Palsy Caregiver Resources

    There are many national and local support groups for cerebral palsy and caregiving. Cerebral palsy parents often find community in these groups and form connections they can lean on during challenging times.
